BABY BUMP IS EXPANDING (WEEK 21)

Photobucket

Well, we're just over the half way point now and I'm finally starting to show. I never thought I'd be so ready and willing to gain weight but I really like the fact that I'm growing...as I grow so does Maddie and we're that much closer to meeting her! I'm still in the in-between stage where my regular clothes aren't fitting but maternity clothes are a bit big. Overall, I've been feeling pretty well. I still get tired easily and have been napping more than ever in the last few months. Overall, I think I have been very lucky with having an easy pregnancy. I guess we'll revisit these remarks when I'm 9 months pregnant in July in Central Texas!

WE'RE HAVING A GIRL!! (WEEK 20)

We just got back from our 20 week appointment and ultrasound and confirmed that we're having a girl! Baby Musgrove is now Madeline (Maddie) Layne Musgrove! We are very excited! The due date is still set for August 6th and all the measurements are normal.

I've also started to feel her kick in the last couple of weeks. I can tell she is getting stronger everyday. In fact, you can already feel her from the outside as well. Last night Chad put his cheek up to my belly and she socked him one right to the face. It was pretty funny.

I'm going to try to upload the video but have had a lot of trouble. I'll see if I can get it posted in the next day or two. Hope everyone is well! Lots of Love--The Musgrove Family

SOME DAYS, I CAN RELATE! (WEEK 19)

PREGNANCY: The best reason in the world to feel so crummy! I read this in a card the other day and it is so true. Of all the little side effects and symptoms pregnancy brings on, mood swings have reared their ugly little head in my life recently.

Most days it might be just a quick spell of frustration or an overwhelming feeling of sentimentality. Some days, it comes and goes but occasionally, I'll have a day where it is all I can do to get through work and come home to flop down on the couch. Exercise?!?! yeah right. For someone who was pretty consistent with yoga, jogging and kick boxing classes, that has gone out the window most days. But, I know I will return to my old self soon enough and in the meantime, I can't think of a better reason to have such moody days.

NURSERY IDEAS (WEEK 17)

Here are some favorite nursery ideas...
I really like the turtles for a boy and the purple flowers for a girl.
I'll be sure to post pics once the actual room is complete which will
probably be sometime in May or June.

CHECK UP (WEEK 16)

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!

I had my 16 week check up today and everything is going smoothly. Tummy measurements are normal and the heart rate is 160 bpm (average for week 16 is about 150 bpm). According to the wives' tale, this would probably mean it is a girl. I did however find a chart that pretty much calls it for what it is...a wives tale. It plotted hundreds of pregnancies showing both boys and girls heart rates varying from 125 bpm-180 bpm. Guess we'll have to wait until March 18th to know for sure!

BABY BUMP MAKES IT'S DEBUT (WEEK 14)

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!

Although nearly undetectable to the naked eye, I can't help but notice I've sprouted a tiny baby bump in the last few days. It started about a week ago when my pants became a little too tight for comfort. Not enough to run out and buy maternity clothes but I found myself having to undo the top button just to breathe! So I figure now is a good time to start taking a picture about every 30 days to watch this little baby grow away! This past Wednesday marks 6 months until the big day...we're 1/3 of the way there!

MEET BABY MUSGROVE (WEEK 12)

We had our 12 week visit today and all is well! He or she is measuring about 2.5 inches...which is right on target for an August 6th due date. The baby was also squirming around so much the technician had to keep adjusting the ultrasound. I probably won't be able to feel the kicks and movement until 18-22 weeks but he or she is already very active. We were hoping we'd get a "guess" on the sex but it's just too early. Patience is a virtue that I'm really lacking right now! :)But we should know by week 20 so we'll be sure to keep you posted.

Here is a video of the ultrasound. It starts off a little grainy as she is taking measurements but it clears up quickly. Around 3:00 minutes in, you will get a good view of a little foot. It measured a mere 10mm...
